Fits Like a Glove!

Saturday, July 16th, 2011

I recently got myself fit on my Cervelo P2, a new addition to my collection of bikes, and I realized that I had desperately needed it. I literally had gotten a 3 minute fit on it before the first individual time trial of the Team Mcallen Time Trial Series and had kept it throughout the four races. I thought I would be my own mechanic and fit the bike to myself, baaaaaaaad move!

I had taken the quick fit from pretty good to horrible! So I set up an appointment at the shop to get myself fit, and didn’t believe the amount of adjustments that needed to be made — Wally needed to change the stem out, raise the seat, adjust the aerobars closer to my arms, everything, basically

Before the fit, the bike just didn’t feel comfortable, my wrists were hurting from the aerobars being rotated (which I did myself, I should be a mechanic!) and my legs felt way too cramped when I was riding. After the fit though, it felt as though it was a completely different bike, everything just felt natural about it and it’s as if it was made specifically for me! So in short: if you need a bike fit, get someone that knows what they’re doing to do it (don’t look at me, even though I know I’m the PRIME candidate to fit you, I promise!) instead of doing it yourself, your body will thank you for it!

S5?! What happened to S4?

Cervelo recently has released a new bike in their S-series line of bikes, the S5! The bad boy takes what looks to be the wheel cutout of the P4 with the razor thing seat stays and massive chain stays from the S3, most likely making this the most aero road bike out there. Thor from Garmin-Cervelo has been using this bike in this year’s Tour de France, and he’s spent 3 days as the race leader in yellow! It looks pretty dang awesome in my opinion, and I hope to get my hands on one of these soon!
